HardieBacker® 12mm is a water-resistant, no-mesh cement backerboard essential for tiling in kitchens, bathrooms, and other wet areas. HardieBacker® 12mm should be used on wet area walls as a replacement for plasterboard or plywood.  HardieBacker® is impervious to water damage and will not rot, crack, or swell in the wettest conditions.  It contains MouldBlock Techonology™, an anti-mould additive that prevents unseen mould growth behind the walls. It contains no paper facing which is a food source for mould or gypsum, which can disintegrate with continuous water exposure.
